Carole Collet

Carole Collet is a Reader and Deputy Director of the Textile Futures Research Centre at Central Saint Martins College, University of the Arts London. Carole pioneered the discipline of Textile Futures ten years ago by developing a new vision for designing textiles and by setting up the MA Textile Futures course at Central Saint Martins College. Carole is a researcher, designer and curator whose interest lies in exploring emerging and disruptive technologies through design to create a more sustainable future. She has been contributing worldwide on the subject of future textiles, sustainable design practices, climate change and the role of science in design. In addition to the Resilients, Carole is currently engaged on several other research projects such as Biolace, a speculative design project that explores the potential impact of synthetic biology on future fabrication. She is also curating an exhibition for the EDF Foundation on the subject of Biomimicry, Living Technology and Design due to open in Paris in 2013.
